Replit Updates

Replit Cuts Cloud Costs and Adds Slack to Agent

Replit cut cloud deployment, storage, and data transfer prices from 1 August 2026, with new rates applying to all projects automatically. The update also adds Slack search to Agent and a refreshed mobile app.

Lower cloud bills, a Slack connector that gives Agent your team's conversation history, and a mobile app that works while your phone is locked: Replit has had a productive week.

The headline item is pricing. From 1 August 2026, Replit has reduced costs across cloud deployments, App Storage, and outbound data transfer. The new rates apply automatically to every published project from the start of the first billing cycle on or after 1 August. No migration, no configuration change, no action required. If you have apps running on Replit, your next bill will be lower.

Slack context for Agent

The more operationally interesting change is the new Slack connector. Once you connect your Slack workspace, Agent can search messages, files, channels, and people you have access to. It can read full thread replies and private channels you belong to, send messages as you with your permission, and create or update Slack canvases.

This changes the quality of what Agent can build without manual prompting. Most teams accumulate substantial context in Slack over time: product decisions buried in threads, bug reports discussed in channels, client feedback passed around as direct messages, workarounds documented in canvases. When Agent has read access to that history, the first version of any feature or fix benefits from context it would otherwise need you to explain from scratch.

The practical difference shows up most clearly when Agent needs to extend something already built. Instead of copying the relevant background from Slack into your prompt, Agent can search and retrieve it, then use it to inform the code. Less copy-paste, fewer mismatches between what the team agreed and what was built.

Mobile improvements

The Replit mobile app has a refreshed home screen and simpler project navigation. You can now swipe between the Agent pane, tasks, and a live preview of your application. Voice prompts are also available: tap the microphone in the Agent chat box, speak your instruction, and Replit transcribes it into editable text before sending. You can review and edit the transcription before it goes to Agent.

On iOS, Live Activities now track Agent progress as a lock screen banner. Start a build, put your phone in your pocket, and see a notification when Agent finishes without reopening the app.

Plan flexibility

A smaller but useful billing change: you can now switch between individual Pro tiers and change your billing cadence from billing settings, without cancelling and resubscribing. Replit tells you whether the change takes effect immediately or at the end of your billing period before you confirm.

Why this matters for UK businesses

Lower deployment costs on a usage-based platform directly reduce the financial exposure of keeping an app live. For a small business that built an internal tool on Replit six months ago and has been watching the running costs each month, the August price reduction lowers the threshold for keeping it in production.

The Slack connector matters for any team where the people giving instructions to Agent are different from the people writing in Slack. That is most teams. Giving Agent search access to your Slack workspace means it is building with the same ambient knowledge your team has, rather than only what you remembered to include in the prompt.

How Adevious AI sees it

Replit is a central part of how Adevious AI builds and deploys client applications. Lower cloud prices reduce the cost base for hosted projects directly, which is good news for clients on fixed budgets.

The Slack connector is the update we are most interested in testing. Several clients use Slack as their primary working environment, and the ability to give Agent context from their channels before writing code should produce a more accurate first pass. We are running tests on active projects this week.

For teams that have been hesitant about Replit because of cloud hosting costs, now is a reasonable time to revisit the numbers.

One thing to try this week

Connect your Slack workspace to Replit Agent. Before asking Agent to build or extend a feature, ask it to search the relevant channel for background first. Review what it finds, then send your build prompt. The first draft should reflect your team's existing decisions rather than starting from generic assumptions.
