Engineering for
my business applications.

Production records, stock movements and permissions all depend on decisions behind the interface. These examples explain the kinds of problems I work on and the controls I build into the software.

01

Operations in one place

Give the team a shared record of jobs, stock and progress, instead of reconciling spreadsheets to find out what is happening.

  • Operational workflows
  • Inventory and resource management
  • Reporting and management information
02

Pricing, calculations and approvals

Turn the rules in spreadsheets or one person’s head into calculations and approval steps that colleagues can follow and check.

  • Financial and commercial calculations
  • Validation and approval processes
  • Traceable decisions and changes
03

The right access for each person

Staff see the information they need. Managers control who can edit or approve it, and access can be removed when responsibilities change.

  • Business sign-in and identity
  • Roles, permissions and revocation
  • Audit trails and accountable actions
04

Maintenance as the business changes

Add a report, connect another system or change a process without losing the records and working features your team already relies on.

  • Ongoing development and maintenance
  • Integrations and database changes
  • Testing, releases and handover

What sits behind
a business application.

The technical controls behind the records, permissions and changes your team sees.

Identity and permissions

Microsoft Entra sign-in, server-side access checks and session revocation make access enforceable beyond the screen.

Business logic and data

Validation, calculations and reconciliation need defined rules, including what happens when inputs are incomplete.

History and accountability

Audit trails, document versions and source references make it possible to investigate a decision or change.

Changes after release

Database migrations, dependency updates and new features need testing against existing workflows as well as new requirements.

Experience in standards‑led environments.

I have implemented software controls supporting ISO 27001 and AS9100D-aligned operating requirements, including access, traceability and records. Certification applies to the organisation and its wider processes, not to an application on its own.
